At 29th of november 2004 the first cask was filled at the distillery, driven by ambition to come to a local authentic product in the Hesbaye. This drive has lead to whisky which is among the beste in the world and is multi award wining for decades. For instance the title for Best European Single Cask in 2011 with a rate of 95% in the Whisky Bible van Jim Murray.

To embrace the old traditions The Belgian Owl destills with 2 authentic stills, hauled from the former Caperdonich-distillery from Speyside, Scotland. As so in the beautiful Hesbaye a unique, pure and balanced whisky is created at the highest quality. Its an understatement to say that this highly contributes tot the reason why The Belgian Owl is one of the best whisky’s in the world.
