History of Ringrone Castle
Perched above the River Bandon, just south of Kinsale, this 13th-century castle was constructed on land granted to Milo de Cogan by Henry II. In 1600, the castle was held by Spanish forces but was captured by the English during the Siege of Kinsale after a fierce cannon attack. Today, the remnants of Ringrone Castle lies just a stone’s throw from our brewery and distillery, inspiring us to create the first whiskey produced entirely in Kinsale, Ireland.

Aroma: The initial olfactory impression is a welcoming embrace of warm baked apples, delicately laced with the sweet undertones of vanilla.
Palate: Upon tasting, the sturdy presence of oak is predominant, harmoniously fused with the smooth, creamy essence of vanilla and the spirited spice of pepper.
Aftertaste: This blend concludes with a satisfying medium-length finish that gently persuades one to indulge in another measure of its noble character.
Aging Process: Aged in Bourbon Barrels, this whisky’s maturation process contributes significantly to its distinguished profile.
