The name Langskip derives from the Old Norse term for longship – the iconic Viking raiding vessels that once reigned over the Caithness coast. Sleek, smooth, deliberate, and powerful, the heritage of these vessels permeates the Wolfburn distillery. Beyond ancient settlements and grave sites, the distillery’s hometown of Thurso is reputedly named after Thor, the Norse god of thunder.
