Crafted without age statement yet matured under sun and sea breeze for six tropical years in Trinidad, this rum was then entrusted to Mike’s bespoke hybrid ex-Speyside whisky casks in Scotland for an 18-month grand finale. Bottled at a bold 43% ABV, it emerges as a powerhouse of rich fruit, silky caramel and warming spice – eminently sippable neat or electrifying in any cocktail.
It’s rare we launch a new global rum icon, and our excitement is off the charts. Even more thrilling: Firkin Rum is the brainchild of Mike Collings, the mastermind behind Johnnie Walker Blue Label and countless award-winning whiskies. His pedigree spans supplying the Royal Navy in the 1980s, distributing Cockspur and Pusser’s Rum, and perfecting cask design with American bourbon and French Limousin oak.
On the other side of the globe, Jim Ashley of Outlaw Rum mirrored Mike’s passion by finishing Trinidadian rum in Speyside single-malt casks. When these two visionaries met, chemistry sparked – and the Firkin Rum First Edition Single Cask was born.
