Moko Rum captures the soul of the Caribbean islands, where swaying palms shimmer in the golden sunshine and the warm sea breeze carries the sweetness of sugarcane.
Founded in Bordeaux in 1869 by brothers Ernest and Maurice Lasserre, Moko set out to blend the finest rums from Martinique and Jamaica. Their meticulous distillation and ageing practices created a spirit of remarkable depth and character.
Revived in 2017 by Philippe Peyrat and his children, Clémence and Édouard, Moko Rum marries time-honoured tradition with contemporary expertise. Each batch is aged for several years in Panama’s humid climate, bottled at its natural strength, then finished in oak Cognac casks to impart layers of tropical fruit, vanilla and warming spice.
On the nose, expect ripe banana, toasted coconut and a hint of sea salt. The palate reveals honeyed pineapple, gentle allspice and polished oak, leading to a long, silky finish that transports you straight to sun-drenched shores.
