Peathia is a burgeoning distillery located in the West Flemish town of Pittem, Belgium, not far from Bruges. Its three foundational elements are Peated, Cask Strength, and Single Malt. The current offering is not yet Whisky, but a New Make Spirit without an age statement. Peathia utilizes Belgian barley, highlighting the local essence of their spirits. Their commitment to exclusively producing peated whiskey sets Peathia apart. This spirit, just over a year old, builds upon their inaugural release, leading with a bourbon flavor before introducing the peat. This batch presents a more pronounced peat profile, yet remains approachable for those less fond of peat. As with the initial release, it aims to acquaint drinkers with the peat flavor profile. It is unfiltered and bottled at cask strength. Despite its youth, it offers a distinct flavor with ample complexity to satisfy experienced whisky enthusiasts. A limited run of only 500 bottles is available.
