Hanácká vodka is produced from the clear waters of deep wells in Haná, fine alcohol, and a six-fold filtration process through activated carbon, which endows the vodka with a delightful smoothness. The production of this oldest Slavic vodka has been ongoing for centuries in the same town of Prostějov, where a distillery has stood since 1518. The first known distillery belonged to Mates from Prostějov, the progenitor of the Prostějov distillers.
Hanácká vodka was crafted following the principle of honesty, using a straightforward method of measurement with a silver Prague groschen in a densitometer. This process yielded a masterpiece of purity, originally named “vodka”—a term that was later universally adopted. This is why Hanácká is recognized as the oldest vodka in the world.
