The foundation of Hanácká vodka production lies in the pristine water from Haná’s deep wells and the finest alcohol, enhanced by a six-fold filtration through activated carbon, endowing the vodka with exceptional smoothness. The oldest Slavic vodka has been produced for centuries in the same town of Prostějov, home to a distillery since 1518. The earliest recorded distiller was Mates from Prostějov, a forebear to the town’s distilling legacy.
Hanácká vodka was crafted adhering to a principle of integrity, utilizing a straightforward measurement technique with a silver Prague groschen in a densitometer. This process yielded a paragon of purity, originally named “vodka”—a term that was subsequently embraced as the spirit’s designation. Hence, Hanácká is recognized as the world’s most ancient vodka.
