Dockyard Gin´s

Gin & Tonic

This recipe showcases Dockyard Gin’s dry citrus top notes and spicy-floral depth in a classic Gin & Tonic.

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Dockyard Gin (Copper Rivet Distillery)
  • 100–150 ml premium dry tonic water
  • Ice (large cubes preferred)
  • Pink grapefruit wedge or twist (garnish)

Glassware

Use a highball glass or a balloon glass to allow the gin’s aromatics to shine.

Method

  1. Fill the glass generously with large ice cubes.
  2. Pour 50 ml Dockyard Gin over the ice.
  3. Gently top with 100–150 ml dry tonic water to taste.
  4. Stir once or twice with a bar spoon to marry gin and tonic.
  5. Garnish with a pink grapefruit wedge or a thin twist for extra citrus fragrance.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Bright citrus and cardamom lift immediately from the glass.
  • Palate: Zesty orange and lemon peel interplay with coriander’s warmth, settling into a smooth, moreish finish.
  • Finish: Subtle floral echoes of elderflower and orris root linger, inviting another sip.

Variations & Tips

  • Swap in a Mediterranean tonic (rosemary or thyme-infused) to accentuate Dockyard’s spice notes.
  • Float a sprig of fresh rosemary or a cucumber ribbon for a herbal twist.
  • For a lighter serve, halve the gin and double the tonic, then garnish with a lemon wheel.
