Arran Quarter Cask “The Bothy”

Arran Quarter Cask “The Bothy” is a complex, rich, and intensely fruity single malt, offering a cask strength experience that perfectly complements the Sherry Cask Single Malt.

This cask strength variant of Arran Single Malt was initially aged in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels for seven years before being transferred for an additional two years of maturation into smaller Quarter casks made from the finest American oak. This transfer to 125-litre casks for the final two years of maturation allows for increased contact between the whisky and the oak, resulting in a faster and more intense aging process.

The final product is a robust expression of Arran Single Malt that marries strength and elegance, characterized by a rich vanilla sweetness and a pronounced peppery spice. Bottled at natural cask strength without chill-filtration or any artificial coloring, this whisky is presented in its most authentic form. Historically, small casks were a staple in the Arran whisky trade during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries due to their ease of handling and transportation across the island. The beloved Quarter Cask expression revives this age-old tradition.
