Peathia is a new distillery in Belgium, in the West Flemish town of Pittem, not far from Bruges. Peated, Cask Strength and Single Malt are its 3 core elements.
This release is no Whisky yet, but a New Make with a Non-Age Statement.
Peathia works with Belgian barley, which emphasizes the local character of their product. The vision to only make peated whiskey makes Peathia unique.

Peathia Tasting Notes:
Nose: Oak, wood fire and a sweet touch of maple syrup
Palate: The peated does not present itself right away. Some sour, but furthermore and foremost a sweet touch of brown sugar, and a bit of chocolate. A coffee hint and a small touch of barley reminiscent of a fresh triple. The alcohol is present but not overpowering after the first sip.
Finish: Now you do get a smoke note and a warm feeling at the back, the taste lingers for a long time and with some extra boost.
The Peathia is a Pittem Cask Strength, Single Malt at a 63,2% ABV.
