Ryggia: Belgian Single Malt Whisky – Inaugural Release

The Distillery

The Bruges Whisky Company is located in West-Flanders. The BWC team takes their time with production, as patience is a crucial element in crafting a premium product. BWC produces Single Malt, aged in small to medium-sized first-fill Bourbon barrels, and finishes it in small first-fill barrels to achieve the optimal flavor profile. Alongside the Cask Strength Rogia, BWC offers the Ryggia range, also available in Cask Strength. In 2021, BWC expanded into crafting fine beers.

Ryggia

‘Ryggia’ is derived from old Norse, meaning ‘wild untamed beast,’ and it’s one of the names that contributed to the name ‘Bruges.’ It is matured in meticulously chosen first-fill barrels and is never diluted, ensuring an extraordinary and unique dram with a rich and characterful essence that is quintessentially Ryggia.

Before

Thibaut, Peter, and their expanding team have pre-released several batches of new make, such as the ‘Experiment’ series (A – D) of Ryggia. They have also launched various Rogia batches. All these spirits are a testament to ‘Flemish Stubbornness and Hard Work,’ which serves as their inspiration.
